In 1906, Pierre S. du Pont purchased the Peirce Arboretum to save its trees from being cut for lumber. Over the next nearly half century, Mr. du Pont developed Longwood Gardens into what it is today, a magnificent horticultural showplace.
We invite you to visit Longwood Gardens, which now encompasses 1,050 acres of gardens, woodlands, and meadows. Enjoy over 11,000 types of plants, more fountains than any other garden in the US! Click here to learn more.

During A Longwood Christmas, the Art-Reach Member discount will be available during the following days of the week:

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday (closed Tuesdays)

Black-Out dates (no discount available) during the holidays are Friday-Sunday, as well as the entire week between Christmas and New Year's.

Visiting Policies:

Timed tickets are required to visit Longwood Gardens. Re-entry is not permitted; however, you may stay as long as you like until the Gardens are closed.

Outside food is not permitted into the Gardens, but there are picnic areas outside of the main grounds that are available to guests before or after your visit. There are dining areas inside the Gardens with food available to purchase.
